My schools didn't have orchestra. I was in band in college, too, but playing xylophone since I was a pianist and played it in high school my last year as an extra-curricular activity.
I would have played violin if there were an orchestra, so I'm hoping there's still time maybe in taking lessons. I actually asked to play violin when I was 6 or 7 years old. I told my dad and grandma. I majored in piano for a year when I started college.
Do you think I have hope in violin at age 31 at some intermediate level? I just need to learn the vibrato and eventually advanced literature and more keys to get used to. It seems I'm coming right along.

And besides, 31 is an ideal age - you're still young and have your whole future in front of you.

I still am not very comfortable holding the violin and playing the notes with enough certainty. I feel agitated and stiff, like I'm fused together. I'm pretty good and remembering all the notes, and one - hey a violin just came on BabyFirst!!! - violin teacher said I was the best sight reader she met. She said I was intermediate. Makes sense. I have college to back me up in the meantime. If I don't make it or need something else to do, I have college.

You're good and you obviously have a passion for it. You should continue following your dreams. I think I've told you that before.

I had skills before, too, maybe some cleaner now and potential hopefully left if I apply somehow. It's hard living in Central Florida by Disney World but not really the closest to it. When I was told to quit music by the people there, they said they knew I loved music but didn't have that outgoing personality or something, like I didn't like it enough. Yea, a lotta people encourage me in my skills in music. I'm also working on a song on piano for America's Got Talent, auditions here early November. It's a church song cuz I always loved it and was in choir until college mostly. I want to do classical music, tho. There is such thing as classical church music. I got a full scholarship to study sacred music in Louisiana. I just chose another school and major.
